Basic Obstetric Skills
The act of childbirth is one of the most sacred events on the planet, however it does not always proceed smoothly. There are several moving parts, all delicately intertwined in an exhilaratingly beautiful, intricate process; which could perhaps be overwhelming to those unexposed. In this workshop, we aim to inculcate the fundamentals of obstetrics in an interactive and hands-on manner, to ensure that the doctors of the future are prepared for any circumstance in the labour room.
Course contents:
Hands on exposure with state of the art mannequins
Mechanism of labour in occipitoanterior, occipitoposterior, and breech presentations
Active management of third stage of labour
