Model Health Assembly

Model World Health Assembly is a simulation that recreates the proceedings of the World Health Assembly (WHA), the decision-making body of the WHO, which takes place annually in Geneva, Switzerland. In these simulations, delegates discuss topics within a predefined theme for the conference representing various countries, allowing for innovative and collaborative thinking outside of the conventional classroom setting.

This platform aims to provide delegates with an experiential learning environment to engage with global health issues, undertake research, and partake in negotiations surrounding global health policy. It gives an opportunity for the delegates to voice out their country’s stance, engage in a parliamentary debate and draft resolutions on the particular agenda.

AGENDA: Climate change and Planetary health

FORMAT:

• Individual participation - delegates will be chosen and assigned a country
• Position paper on given agenda to be submitted before the event
• Position paper is to include the stance of the delegates assigned country on the agenda, background of the topic, past international action, country policy, and possible solutions
• A working paper, speech, and resolution for the given agenda is required on the day of the event
• Resolution includes all the issues that the committee aims to solve, and the proposed solutions

RULES:

• Entries (Position papers) to be submitted via Google forms
• Registered participants will be added to whatsapp group on which further rules will be intimated.
